No offense, but why are OS shutdowns a problem? You don't let Windows decide when to do them, do you?
When it want to update itself I always shut down all programs before I reboot.
I have about 150 clients at about 40 different places in Sweden.
All have the same setup with the program and data on a server share.
ONE of those clients was upgraded(?) to W11 and she immediately complained that everything got very slow. Everything worked but took some 3-4 times longer to do...
If by "bulk" you mean spam, I don't want to help you. But if you mean sending invoices or confirmation to existing customers, that is "kosher" 😂

I followed the tip but it didn't work. BUT with the next mail I got, I looked a little more careful. Although the colours are very pale, I discovered that it had a "disable emails" link at the bottom. THAT worked (so far) 😂
Well that's only true if you made a default install, right? I have mine in D:\Program\VFP9, so I can easily move the entire directory to another computer.
In my limited experience of C5 errors (my users don't get them a lot), the line numbers in the error log aren't very useful.
The crash could be at the same place, but line numbers can be different despite that.
A reboot of the offending client usually fixes the problem.

At my around 50 installations all over Sweden, everything is on a directory on a server.
Inside that directory I have subdirectories like for example:
DATA
REPORTS
IN
OUT
And so on...
