    Thanks for the reply. I know that using the 'saveas' will work but this will fail if you are going to convert a dw that has computed field values, dates, etc. Plus, it does not make the excel file protected.

    Hi, I've searched the web regarding my problem and I've found some topics about saving dw to an excel file. But I havent found anything that deals with an excel file having some of its columns in protected mode. I would really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

    what does this mean?

    The first line is a function prototype for EXCEPTION(). The second is a fuction definition for main().
