I didn't try to boot from floppy after this problem appeared. I uninstalled the device and the controller and shut down. While shut down, I replaced the floppy cable. After rebooting, it works again. Boy, am I "rusty" on troubleshooting. Thanks for the reply. daldous

Problem Solved!! The default profile for User Switching is apparently "Fast User Switching". I turned "Fast User Switching" off and the problem disappeared. All users in any order may now use the printer. You put me on the right track! Thank you for your efforts!! daldous
