Yes, the vrrp transitions are seen due the fact that a task, READOP is not yielding. So the Cpu gets busy and misses to sent the vrrp hello's which are supposed to be sent in 1 min. And when the vrrp slave sees no Hello from the Master and the hold down timer is exceeded, 3 sec, it assumes...
We did run into this, try upgrading the 5510 to version 4.2.1.004 and along with the diag and mirroring worked however we are only able to mirror one port at a time...
Hi Jynxx,
I'm thinking you may be wrong on a couple of those steps on the 470 config:
470 config:
1.)The 470 must be configured as a normal MLT and set to port type of trunk.
2.)The VLANs must be added to the ports because you can't add there's no way to add them to the MLT.
3.)Spanning...
Remove all the old config files and LDAP files in the directory's:
/ide0/system/config
/ide0/system/slapd/ldif

And their support People don't have a clue, They always sound stoned out of their minds. I'd rather drive to the local fast food drive thru and ask them for support...LOL
I have two Cisco routers configured for HSRP and they are plugged into Nortel switches and work fine. You said they are connected "together with a trunk" not sure what you mean by that. Does it work if you plug the Cisco's into another switch/hub?
I almost forgot, I'm not bias I just work with both products and know, Nortels software is usually a nightmare. I work with their Passport and Contivity products and their software always seems to have bugs on basic operating stuff? If you can afford it I'd strongly suggest Cisco (pay now or...
I've seen this problem, (8600) running version 3.5.4.1. Seems the only fix is to reboot which is a bummer because you can't save any changes to the config that you had made prior. The cause seems to be sessions not being logged out for some reason.
