thanks alot for the tip to for the stinger program, it found and deleted 3 viri inclueding the blaster worm, ive reformated her drive and installed NAV aswell as the windows updates and everything seems to be working fine now

ive just upgraded my aunts computer to windows xp pro and now after surfing around or downloading for awhile the rpc will terminate, i knew this was the signs of the blaster worm so i got the fix and ran it in safe mode but turned up empty handed. im frankly boggled as to why this is happening...

ive never had any problems installing my xp pro over win98, or win2k, dont know about other versions tho. also keep in mind that if you upgrade from windows 98 some devices may not be compatible with windows xp

ok nother update i was sitting here ponering why the powersupply died so suddenly when lo and behold i hear the fans in my computer whir to life, this was 5 maybe 10 minutes after i had pushed the power button last, anyone have any idea at all as to why it would do this, ive seen tv's take up...

got it working, seems that this computer reads the mbr different then my newer one, a simple fdisk /mbr took care of it
