Cheers folks, Ill try runnig the bootcfg from the recovery console and see what that comes up with. I've played around with the boot order to see if that would make a difference and turned on the SMART setting in the BIOS too, but it made no difference. Ill let you know how i get on. C

Tried that, the output of the variable #ThisDate# is in the exact same format as the date field in the database - dd/mm/yyyy I have even changed the sql query so that it is selecting everything from the table, not just the USERS_key value, but alas, still no luck :o(

Well, I dont know what the issue was with the drive letter, it was auto mapping to H, but this wouldnt appear. So, I did as adivsed and changed the letter to M in disk manager - I strongly doubt ANYTHING would ever try to use that letter - and lo and behold, there it is in my computer!! Thanks...

Yeah, its definately working on other machines, other usb devices work in the same place (i tried my usb bluetooth adaptor and it worked fine), there is over 750Mb of data on it and I am currently running WinXP SP2. Hope this helps, if you need anything else, just ask.
