i have a very similar setup and have seen this happen when there is heavy traffic across the vpn's and/or when there is a large email bieng pulled. look for congestion on your T's. I would bet you its related to that.

Having rectently upgraded to a netscreen 50, i notice that the default settings on the untrust screen side are minimal. I assume this is to keep the cpu from canking up, but what are some of the recommended protections/settings on the untrust side i should be checking the box on? Thanks in advance.
