I differ from the above answer a bit. 1st of all, don't try to learn Impromptu at all. It is obsolete now...replaced by Reportnet. Cognos 8 does NOT include Impromptu, it includes Reportnet which is now called with different component names like Report Studio, Query Studio and Framework...- cognostechie
