Thanks for the answer. The clips all have meaningfull names and for maintenance reasons these names will have to stay. At all costs I want to avoid having code inside clips. Again for maintenance reasons. This is company policy as on the next release this job will be someone elses...

Does the music play at all or will it play and just not loop. I noticed that your code loads music dynamically but you are you are trying to loop it. As far as I am aware you cannot loop sound like this. Just my 2c worth.

Hi Is there a problem I am unaware of with merged cells. I have often merged cells without any problems but my new boss has said that is a definate no-no. I suspect its just him but thought I would check before saying anything.

Thank you for the code but I am unsure how or where to use it. Also the whole thing is taking place within a movie clip. The file is loaded using loadMovie and loads into an empty clip. Can I just ask you to help me one more time ? T.I.A.
