Is this DVD by chance a comination DVD player/CD Rewriter?
Is it made by A-Open?
I had a similar situation. I could not install the A-Open DVD Combo drive with 1 HDD and 1 CD Rom. I tried with the CD and HDD on one channel, HDD Master, and CD Slave, with the Combo on Channel 2 - no good...
As the problem occurs when logging ON, it would appear to be a local (client) problem. How much hard drive space does the client have free? Has it been recently degragged?
Could be wrong, but it seams intuitive to me.
As for access rights - you want FULL, not just read-write from what I remember.
One of the XP workstations on the NT server is producing an error on shutdown, saying it cannot write to the roaming profile - possibly a network problem or insufficientaccess rights. The user has full access to the drive and directory where the profile is stored.
He had a lot of...
I have not done it yet, but apparently by mapping a network share to %username% and putting the file repository there, full outlook can do it. Outlook express cannot use network or shared drives, so cannot. I don't have an Outlook user roamed yet.
I have 2 Del desktop computers running WinXP Pro. They connect to the internet through a Cisco 1600 Router and DSL.
When logged on locally, there are no internet problems.
We are implementing roaming profiles, and server authentication for privacy reasons- and now, when logged in to the network...
I am just in the middle of implementing roaming profiles on a mixed NT network. On the Win98 clients everything appears to work fine. However, I have a few XP Pro clients, and they are proving to be a challenge.
User 1 has been logging in to his workstation (not the server) and has been using...
OK, I've set up one test user with a roaming profile and it works on XP and 98SE.
Just one question.
What is the function of the "home folder".
What goes there?
Does it have any effect on program operations, or only the profile itself?
If a user who normally only uses one computer...
The referencedarticle says the roaming profile is available to the user when the user logs on to any "windows NT 4.0-based" computer in the domain.
I'm assuming this also includes XP Pro machines?
What happens when the user logs onto a Win98 machine??
Any gotchas?
Server is a domain server.
Users are set up on the server.
Win98 users can log on without problems. Everything works.
Problem is only with XP workstations.
There are 20 some users who may need to use these machines. I CAN NOT have 20 user profiles, with their associated file structures, on...
Found the problem. You guys will likely get a good laugh out of this one - but keep it in mind if it ever happens to you. The date was set to the wrong year - I think it was 3053. No wonder I could not get any updates ............
No, there is no firewall.A simple dialup connection through sprint with an internal Rockwell chip 56K modem.(A-Open)
As for the antivirus, we installed Win98, logged onto the internet and attempted to run the Windows Update. We could not, so we downloaded McAfee AntiVirus Online portion of the...
Just re-installed win98SE on an old P233 Micron, and went to run the Windows Update. It will not run. The same machine will also not run McAfee Antivirus online. It comes up and says it must verify subscription, goes to McAffee, says subscription verified, but will not run. Cannot download the...
