After working in the tech field for more than 8 years, I was required to get the A+ certification for a project. Most of my study time was spent on the Net and reviewing a couple of books. Took a few practice tests, then the real deal. It wasn't too hard, but I'm glad I studied some of the...
Simple question that you've probably already done... Have you checked the registry for entries related to msvcrl.dll? You may be able to get rid of the "component request" by deleting reg entries. Of course, you'll want to back up the REG before doing ANY editing. Best wishes!
One more smaller issue to check -- make sure that Recovery option for your Services are not set to Restart the Computer if the service fails to load. That could cause reboots, too.
One thing to check is to make sure that the parent folder propagates permissions down to the newly created folder.
You might also try taking Ownership of the new folder, then see if you can map to it.
I hope this helps!
Is there a way for me to give a user admin rights, across the DOMAIN (or for a certain OU), so that user can change passwords ONLY. I don't want the user to be able to do any other domain admin tasks. I simply want them to be in charge of changing passwords and unlocking accounts for a certain...
So, I would use a command line like the following from the DC?
robocopy.exe \\DCSvrName\%username% J:\%username% /ZB /R:3 /W:2 /TEE /LOG:c:\temp\robocopy_users.txt /MIR /COPY:DATS
We use the J:\ drive for user docs... and their docs folder is named the same as their login name. Is this...
We have a network share located on our DC. It's a large drive that hosts our users' documents, etc. However, the drive is filling up, so we want to *move* the files to our SAN. The permissions for each folder allows access by the user and Domain Admins *ONLY*. [Everyone group access has been...
I agree with the consensus. I went to Atlanta for CommVault Training. Without it, our installation and configuration would have been a disaster.
IMO, since it's so different from Backup Exec and the like, training should be a part of the purchase... and one that is well worth the couple grand...
I had this problem awhile back, but figured out that I didn't have enough mag space for the backups to complete. SO, I added a SAN drive with 400GB of room -- to the previous 200GB of HDD mag storage.
Afterwards, changed some of the agents to point to the new Storage Policy (for the SAN)...
Paul,
Sorry for the delayed reply. I tried the DNS flush, with no appreciable effect. Also, no errors in Event Log after flushing and registering DNS on the workstation. I forgot to check the DNS Client Svc, but will do so. THANKS!
I hate to bring this here, but I don't know where else to go. We are experiencing what we believe to be DNS issues in our network. Here is one example of how this problem manifests itself:
On a user XP Pro workstation, an intranet web-based app that requires AD authentication won't start after a...
