ok Terry, can we follow this one through? How do I know which client I am using, and how do I get and install the version you have suggested. Thanks Terry. I have tried not using XP. First I tried the MS VirtualPC to set a Windows 98 Virtual Machine...It won't logon to the server...next I tried scrubbing XP and installing 98 on the new machine...It won't boot (NDIS errors and Protection Errors). I am getting to the end of my options...- ChrisWallace

File Sharing with XP Pro on Netware 3.12 Server
I have several new XP Pro workstations which do connect great to Novell 3.12 using MS Netware Client (yipee)..BUT although I have used the netware FLAG command to make DOS files on the server shareable, XP Pro locks the file when it loads it, and prevents others from reading!!!
