I have a query about the best way to implement something.
We have three main sites connected by WAN - head office and two remote sites. Each has their own Exchange 2003 server, but outgoing email is routed to the head office then out via a Unix server acting as the smarthost. We have a single...
I am trying to use a dial-up modem via an ATA on an NBX 100. Is this even possible? The modem won't negotiate a call successfully with the other end, but does when plugged directly into an external line. The ATA presents a dial tone properly, the modem can initiate a call, and the other end...
AckeyG - I can report on where the changes are needed already, that's not the issue, the issue is trying to find a way to automate the changes. Unless I misundertand your answer, it doesn't help me with that.
porkchopexpress - The files are not on shares, they are generaly Windows system files etc.
I am looking for a utility or script that I can run on my Win 2003 servers to globally replace any permissions granted to 'Everyone' with 'Authenticated Users'. Any ideas?
The reason I am looking for this is I have a large number of servers, and an audit has highlighted that there are a lot of...
I've been doing a bit more digging since I posted, and had come across the notes on prf files. I've created one, which seems to work on a one off basis, but what is the best way to deploy this? I had hoped that if I ran it on each machine once, it would store the info for any subsequent user...
Does anyone know of an easy way of automatically populating the client setup fields when a user logs in to a PC for the first time (i.e. when creating the mail profile on a client PC, having a default value for the Exchange server and mailbx)
I'd like to avoid the issue where users try this...
I have a strange issue in Outlook 2003 that is a little annoying. When we get an email from a particular sender, the envelope icon doesn't change from the yellow closed envelope to the open white envelope even after the message is read. The text changes from bold to normal, but no change in the...
Extra info - I have also edited the mf20 dsn file to include the updated server name, and when running a dsmaint config, it reports that it connects to the data store successfully.
I've had to go through the process of renaming a Citrix server (PS4), and followed instructions that I found on the Citrix website.
Now, however, I cannot start the IMA service, and I'm getting an error -
The Citrix Presentation Server failed to connect to the data store. ODBC error while...
Thanks guys, I'm an idiot. Vschumpy, you were spot on, I was trying to expand the wrong session. It looks like the backup server crashed before the end of the backup job, so didn't complete all the sessions. I was looking at the Info Store session, thinking it was the brick level. D'oh!
I've checked the job, and it's a brick level backup, and its definitely configured as a brick level backup. I've also been able to restore individual mailboxes before.
I'm beginning to wonder if my database is corrupt. How do I wipe to a clean database on v11?
I am trying to restore an individual mailbox on an Exchange backup on BrightStor v11.0, but I can't expand the session. The session shows a grey box instead of the usual green box. I can expand it one level, where it shows a 'subfolder' of "Information Store", but I can't expand it any further...
I've got an Exchange 5.5 server, and we recently changed our domain name.
For some reason, any bounce messages from the server are still coming from the old domain, i.e. postmaster@olddomain.com
I've checked the email address configured for the Administrator account, and it's showing...
Thanks for the pointers. I had already been able to forcibly change the password and access the PC. I was then able to use msconfig to undo the diagnostic startup and reboot normally. (I have since set the password to be what it should have been to start with!)
Thanks
