I need to move a server from one Domain to another. Both domains are trusted. However the server is running a SQL 7 database with IIS which allows the users to access the datbase through their Web browser.
From what I can tell the database is controlled by NT local and global groups.

I have just found that if the switch that is used to configure the VLAN is forwarding UDP broadcasts this can cause the problem we are having.
We are now going to try to turn of forwarding on the switch to see this cures it.
This will only mean that all the PCs in the VLAN will not become browsers. This could affect browsing. Ideally I would like them to participate in browsing but not try to become the Domain Master Browser.
Since we have had a VLAN introduced to start splitting up our network we have had about 4 PCs from the VLAN thinking they are the master browser for the domain. This only happens from PCs in the VLAN. The followinf error re-ocurrs on the PDC.
"The master browser has received a server...
Does anybody know how Exchange 5.5 handles emails sent to multiple recipients?
If a large mail is sent to 5 people does it copy that mail 5 times or does it have a reference back to the original email?
We have a one-way trust set up over a slow VPN link.
Our NT4 SP5 PDC is set to trust a Windows 2k domain.
I can create a directory on our PDC giving a user from the 2K domain access with no problems. He can then access this directory.
However if I create a directory in the same manner on our...
I seem to have lost all toolbars in Word 2000.
It will not let me press Alt and F to bring up the file menu and I even tried uninstalling Office and re-installing it. Excel is OK. I also tried a colleagues Normal.dot file.
Thanks for the advice
I have now managed to set the trust up. I did as you recommended and set the trust up when the link was not being used at all. With the extra bandwidth it allowed me to set the trust up.
I am having problems setting up a one-way trust between 2 domains over a very slow link that is also a VPN.
I can ping the other PDC but the time = over 3000ms. When I try to establish the trust it complains that it cannot find the PDC of the remote domain.
Has anyone had a similar...

I have changed the switch port the server is plugged into and the NIC.
However it seems to be happening with all of our Exchange servers. Some are based at completely different buildings.
I will run some test on the network though.
To free the disk space up on the drive you need to perform an offline defrag of the Private Information Store.
If you take a look in Technet at the ESEUTIL command.
Be warned this does involve downtime and can take a while to finish.
We have a problem with our Exchange servers. When I run a constant ping on them it occasionally "request times out". On one particular server I have changed the NIC and the port it is plugged in to. The time outs seem to increase when I delete lots of emails from a mailbox on that...
Can anyone offer any advice?
I have to remove an Exchange 5.5 site from our Organistaion today. I am planning to simply remove the replication connectors then the site connectors.
What problems am I likely to have?
Is there anything else I need to do?
Are there any tools available for this...
