    USB2

I am thinking about getting a digital camcorder which will no doubt connect to my PC via Fire-Wire, so I will need to install a Fire-Wire port on my PC. I have heard of some cards which have both Fire-Wire and USB2 ports on them, so it seems sensible to get one of these as it will be cheaper...

    Dead USB Port

Thanks for this, but it hasn't cured the problem. I've been told that the reason I get the NTKERN.VXD error is because there are some files missing on Win98 SE which are only on the Win 98 disc. I haven't been able to get hold of a copy of this, and the microsoft website just advices me to...

DAMSEL IN DISTRESS WITH SOUND CARD ISSUE!

I don't know what exactly may be causing your sound problems, but it could well be the driver. Updating it, or removing the card and putting it back in a different slot is easy enough though. I'd never done it till a few months ago, so I can promise you its not as scary as it seems! First...

    Dead USB Port

Think I am better off leaving the bios well alone. I'd rather have a working PC with no USB than a box with pretty lights!! Thanks anyway

    Dead USB Port

I have since remembered that my USB did once work.... When I first got my PC it came with a mouse that connected via USB, but after a few months it stopped working so I switched to another mouse I had - which wasn't USB. I just assumed that the mouse had died, not the USB port which now...

    Dead USB Port

I've had my PC for 2 years but have never had anything to connect to its 2 USB ports until recently when I got myself a Compaq iPAQ. However, I can't get my iPAQ to sync via USB on either of the 2 ports (it works fine via serial port). When I go to device manager it says that there is an error...
