You have a program running on that port try telnet to
localhost 25
then read whats there for clues as to what program is on that port. or do a netstat -an | grep 25
Yes, you should let your aliases file take care of the issue but maybe there is some unique reason why the previous person put it like that. Take it out and see what happens
If you have a DNS server on your network then you just only need to specify the names. But if you want all the servers in your network to relay to this server then a simple 192.168.0.0 will do and you wont have to list all.
