Hello. Windows XP Pro SP1 will not allow me to install this hp deskjet 3520. I tried the install disk, and at the very end of the installation process, as it's going through it's various "installation phases" (ie registering new components, blah blah...) it says "rolling back action" and ends...

We use an hp 5500 here...it's really good with photos (but not as good as a cheap inkjet, imo, but it will print a nice 8x10 picture in about 10 seconds, as opposed to 5 minutes on an inkjet) Prints fast, ethernet connection, etc...only drawback is the price of the toner! 300 bucks x 4 = tons...

Word is not being used to render for print. The paper size has never been set differently (always 8.5 x 11)...I think I'll try uninstalling some software to see if that helps. Thanks for all your posts.

Well, at this point I would look into any conflicts with CD software (burning software especially). I recently had a problem with my CD RW shutting the comp down when a blank CD-R was inserted...only difference here is that my burner could read data CD's no problem. Just search the thread...

Righteous. No, re-installing software is not such a big deal, but if you knew what I've been through during this petite crisis, well, you'd probably wish you'd never modified the original factory settings of your comp in the first place. Honestly, I don't know why we bought a factory made...
