Greetings, and thanx PAndersen for being keen on the question. BTW, i went to the MS site, bookmarked it for future reference, and went thru the list and i seem to be alright....???? the setting for the autoshutdown after a system hangs is properly set on mine... I will let you know. again...- casaraku

explorer.exe will not end.
Greetings, ...when i go to shutdown, windows does its thing, and normally, the computer shuts off... but often there is a dialogue box about ending the task (explorer.exe) the progress bar goes but nothing happens unless i press end now, then windows shuts down and the computer stops...- casaraku
