Why would you create a protocol and rule to allow, if you don't use this port? By default, with any raptor product all ports are in deny mode unless you open a port to pass traffic. I have 6.5 and SGS 5420 appliance(raptor 8.0 w/ mobile) and both are configured very closely the same.
I tired it with 6.5 and the server crashed. I was so glad I chose the option to backup and save existing server settings and configurations. I was glad I had a contract at the time, I was told by support(Raptor/Symantec) that before you install any OS service pack you uninstall the firewall to...
Try use the TRACE feature in the SMTP daemon, this will show you why it rejects them. For example:"I have any email over 1024 charaters in the body of the email to be suspected rejected", I turn the trace on and I can find out who, what, when, and where. I hope this helps
There is with 6.5.2, so I am sure there is with 7.0.2. I must warn you if they have not changed that much between the two, then this technique will block all users.

I was wondering did we ever find out how to wake the SMTP daemon before the email is sent? This almost sounds like a bug with that release, is Symantec aware of this problem? I currently have not seen this problem even in a test environment.
If you want to forward to another emailbox, use .forward, in you profile, key the address in the .forward under the user profile and that should work. If you are using this feature.
I had simular problems compiling on linux box. I was not logged in as root, I su - root and received a butt load of errors. Make sure you are root when trying to compile these programs.
Network Enities: I have a host setup for my mail server
You need 2 rule sets:
1 to allow incoming mail From the universe
2 to allow outgoing mail out the the universe
Then you need to setup a redirector for mail(smtp) to your host.
Do not for get to setup the Daemons for SMTP gateway you can...
Your server, do you have it configured as a Domain controller or and a stand-alone? You are not giving any type of configuration settings. I think anyone will need to know some configuration settings in order to help you with this issue.
If you are leaving these ports open inbound and outbound, is this not a security risk for hackers? I am interested in your configuration. Does PC Anywhere reuire specific ports or are you assigning those in an extreme high range. I am sure anything port under 1024 is a security risk.
I have been using Raptor w/mobile for 5 years and have only needed to call support 2 times in 5 years. This is a strong product and will keep you stealth on the WAN. Configuration is a little overwhelming at first, dive in get your feet wet.
