Duncan: Yes, you are right. The window gets activated again, but unfortunately still on the phantom screen. Dunc: Thanks for the idea. My keyboard doesn't have an F13 key. However. the other Exposé functions(F9 and F10) I have tried, "show all windows" and "show active window" respectively, allow me to see the window that is out of sight, but I can't do anything with it. At my work I use a Powerbook (OSX10.3) and an external display. When I travel (and work) I often take just the Powerbook. If my InDesign document is partially or wholly displayed on the external display when I close InDesign and shut down, then travel with only my Powerbook I have a problem...- canoenews
