    Evaluating Trend Micro

We've been using Trend OfficeScan, as well as the server and mail protection (with Spam Protection Service) and have been quite happy with its stability, updates and technical support. It is what I would recommend.

Software Inventory Dictionary for IBM Director

So dictionary updates are not available even from IBM through a subscription service. I've tried to find out this information from IBM, but it's like trying to get a horse to drive a car...very difficult.

The above works. Also... If it's an external message... View, Show, Page Source. You can also export these messages to get the header information.

Attachments stripped and replaced with embedded gif

This could be related to sending multiple attachments from a Exchange client to a Domino client. It is a known issue and appears to be related to Microsoft's desire to stray from RFCs. Though this is fixed in later versions of Exchange. If memory serves, it's 5.x and lower that have this...

    Major Noob here..sending mail

One mail thing to look for is to ensure that the user's domain matches the domain you're trying to send to. For instance, if you're trying to send mail to John Smith/Roadrunner and it's listed in the person document as John Smith/Coyote, it won't find him. For us, everything was running...

Notes Database problem- email database size-help

The percentage of space used in unrelated to the actual quota. Generally, you want about a high 90%s percentage. The percentage is a percent of actual mail messages/attachments to the size of the mail database itself. So a mail database that is 100MB and is at 99% would mean that 99MB of that...

Software Inventory Dictionary for IBM Director

So, owing to that all is there an updated dictionary available from IBM outside of the default.sid one that comes with the Director install? I like to keep an eye on things being installed and run on end user systems. There is certainly no way I could keep up with the applications and games...

    Temporary DNS loss

I solved my problem by moving our DNS services to a primary and secondary server, leaving the firewall out of the DNS loop. Everything seems to be running quite well now. Infact, it seems to have sped things up.

    Temporary DNS loss

    To WebNot or not WebNot

I'm looking for any and all suggestions regarding URL filtering. I'm trying to investigate a solution which has the best cost/effectiveness ratio. WebNot is an obvious consideration, but it can be expensive and I understand it has limitations (such as an all or none restriction of...

AS400 to AS400 access Using TN5250 through Raptor

You can use a GSP with it, which should work. However, you have to remember to Disable the TELNETD Proxy DAEMON. It'll use the telnet protocol under the Proxy if enabled, which will cause problems. Hopefully this will work for you. If not, I will try and give a bit of a detailed...

    Cisco 3000 VPN

Has anyone here gotten a Cisco VPN to work behind their SEF installation and could point me in the right direction on getting this work. I'm sure it's probably not that difficult, but it's one of those things that I just can't seem to get for one reason or another. Maybe end up being one of...
