Hi When windows has copied the files to the hard drive and then restarts it does so from the hd. But this just went back into installing the initial files i.e kernal and keyboard. The message was windows was hecking the configuration as if it was a new install. In the bios the 1t boot hd,2nd...

Hi again I updated the bios from f2 - f6 bios was successful. but as it went through the boot up sequence it kept asking for a system disk. Fiddled around for a while still no joy. Put the winxp disk in at the f6 screen installed the sata drivers. then it found the disk and all its partitions...

The specific file in question is normally in connection with Control panel for C-Media based soundcards - often included on popular motherboards with in-built audio. there is a chance if youve ran a spyware removal tool it could have been deleted. Have you disabled the on board sound in the bios.

How old is the pc have you recently downloaded or installed any software/hardware.

have u tried going into task manager. processes and see if some program is trying to execute it, or try ending certain processes and after each try and delete. or start in safe mode and see if you can delete it.

does it start in safe mode

Hi guys I changed the dpi settings on, it then asked if i would use the files on the hd or install from disk i chose hd, since the every time it shuts down i get the message Comwiz failed to initialise. It doen't seem to be causing any other probs just anoying
