Ok, simple question. I am planning to buy 2 X 2 terrabyte drives for backups. My question is, can Backup Exec be set to not overwrite so I could have 2 weeks+ worth of backups contained on 2 seperate drives. I'm not backing up enough to fill the drives up in one go.
Thanks for your advice.
Right, I'm trying really really hard to remain calm as I write this so if it strays into the realms of ranting, forgive me. Firstly, I come for a a Windows background, around 8 years of server/network experience. I am now for one reason or another forced to work with Macs. They are slowly...
Hi,
Is there a way I can calculate the percentage of files between a certain file size? Would it be something I'd need to write a script for or is it built into the OS like auditing is on Windows?
Thanks.
Root is available yes, I tried resetting the password to that too but no luck. The server CD is what I'm currently pinning my hopes on now. Will stay back again after work to try it out.
Hopefully, I won't be back!
Thanks for your suggestions.

OSX 10.5.
I did use the standard Leopard 10.5 CD to reset the password as the server CD is unavailable to me. Is this likely to be the problem?
Based on the way the old admin departed the building I would imagine helping me would be at the bottom of his list! ;-)
Ok, new job, part of which involves looking after an Apple Mac OSX server. Very little documentation and nobody remembers the last time it was restarted. I had to restart it yesterday for maintenace safe in the knowledge that the documented password was the right one.
It wasn't.
So, now I'm left...
I've tried both ways, in both locations. Neither of which work and both giving the same error message. It wouldn't have anything to do with running this through a terminal session would it? I can't see why it would....

I have just installed a new printer for a selection of macs on a network. To install it I used the HP installation CD and when prompted for the Administrator password I entered the Admin username and password. The printer driver installs and everything is fine. Until a restart. After the mac...
Hi all,
I know there is a way to do this, I just don't know how to enable it!
We have a big turnover of staff and we need a way to accept e-mail to each account even though the account itself is disabled. I also need to put on a Out of Office on the disabled accounts but accept the e-mail so...
I've set up a HTML form that will e-mail the results to me. Everything works except that the data e-mailed to me is all one string with the individual value results seperated by &'s. Is there any way to automatically format this data before e-maing it?

cpjust, already tried your suggestion too I'm afraid. No go.
linney, again, I've tried to kill anything that may be 'protecting' the hosts file, AVG down and Zonealarm but still nothing.

DTracy, already tried it I'm afraid! I try to make a point of making forums the last ditch solution to problems hence I try all the obvious (at least to me) solutions first!
