All connections checked, Cmos reset (put screwdriver metal against both pins of CLR_RTC, after taking Battery out.)
This is the second CPU so I doubt it will be that.
How do you update the bios if it doesn't load?
Cheers
Please help, I got a Asus a7v333 mobo and an Athlon 2000xp CPU.
I have installed everything required including heatsink but keep getting the error - ''system failed CPU test''.
I took the COU back and got it replaced but still I get the same error.
Anyone had this before?
Thanks for all the advice, the only problem is that I bought all this kit from different suppliers and cannot now find the receipts ..
Lesson learned methinks.
Regards
I took the CPU and Motherboard back to the shop, (CCL Computers in Leeds, UK).
They tested and came back out and told me that both the mobo and CPU had gone but the heatsink was OK.

Tried it all to no avail, AMD say it will be either the motherboard or CPu so tomorrow I am taking them back to the guys that sold the heatsink for testing.
I will let you know the results if anyone is interested,
Cheers
