I checked, SP2 was published in 2003, so they definitely are on the same version of sharepoint.- calberty

They both have the same name. As far as configuration, they are the same system...both are/were running WSS Services 2.0 and, I believe, SP2. Would there be anything elsewhere in the environment that may cause a problem like this? If the old server was not on SP2 would it cause this problem...- calberty

The server previously running WSS went down so I installed sharepoint on a new server and pointed it to the content/config databases stored on a separate server running SQL 2000.
