This is where "geek" friends come in...surely someone you know has an old CD with an older version of IE on it.
Now that I think about it...one came with my NT installation stuff. Same should be for yours.

Surely you've tried the shortcuts to shutdown/restart a few threads down?
IF they don't work...suspect run32dll as a culprit and try replacing it.
Just imagining what I'd try if faced with a similar thorny crown...and thisisit!

Reading old posts for specific problems...don't you have to install fonts? Something may have shortened the list of fonts available. Open Control Panel and check the fonts tab...check View/options...is there a True Type fonts tab...if so check that and there is a check box that employs ONLY...

Someone taught me recently that Network Neighborhood isn't altogether reliable...but a quick check can be accomplished by typing: \\share name (ours are set up as Mike, John, etc.) at Start|Run. If sharing is up and the network is up and Zone Alarm isn't running you'll see their hard drive. <p>...
