    Filemaker Developer 5 - OS X

Coming to Mac for the first time. Bought a Powermac Sawtooth secondhand, wiped osx 9 off and installed OS X. Super machine, fantastic O/S, then one day, wanted to load Filemaker Developer 5, and the O/S wanted to search for Classic, which of course doesn't exist on my machine! From trawling...

    CLEAN MAC SYSTEM?

If you move to OS X then I would highly recommend http://www.titanium.free.fr, and their program Onyx, it optimizes, cleans & much much more besides. Which is important when your Mac is NOT switched on and running the whole time as you need to consider maintenance, and that's where Onyx from...

    windows to mac os

It also works the other way without problems. On the Mac, you have finder related hidden .ds files they are visible on the PC end, but you can delete them from a Toast session. I use Toast Lite 5.2.2.1 and have no issues with Hybrid (as Toast calls them) CD's being read on Windows or Linux...

    Spreadsheets on Mac

How can we talk of iWork as competitor to MS Office, if there is no spreadsheet???????? Thank heavens there is Open Office and Appleworks, otherwise there would be no spreadsheet. I am sure as a word-processor and presentation package iWork is great, but is no competition for MS Office as it...

    Runtime/USR Export Question

start the file, and if you see File, Export records, then you can do it. If the programmer decided in his wisdom to exclude you from exporting, then you have to get hold of that programmer before you can get your data! Steve Butterworth Time is what you make of it

    Why Opera over Netscape?

Videobruce Right on man. I have gotten so used to Opera doing all those things that I take it for granted! It is just a brilliant product. One thing I find more than useful, multiple downloads from different places at the same time. Never works with other browsers. Steve Butterworth Time is...

    Converting question. Urgent!!!

Dates are always a pain. I find the best way is to move dates as a text field. Although as you say they can always be <doctored> in a spreadhseet. Glad I helped you. Steve Butterworth Time is fluid

First of all in Filemaker export to TAB delimited text. Open up Access and use the wizard in Access to import this TAB file. I have never had problems doing it this simple way. Steve Butterworth Time is fluid
