I'm having a brain lock here. I have a Power Point presentation done in Office 2000 with music that I want to dump onto a CD and distribute.
CD needs to auto run when the user puts it into their drive. Can any one suggest how to do it? Or, can I just dump it onto the CD and it will launch...
I have a client who uses XP and his Explorer has been locked on Home Search as home page. When we reset it does not hold. If he rolls the system back it works fine but the problem seems to activate itself within a few short days.
The display looks like a full screen search engine the title...
I keep getting a "low registry space" warning on a laptop. The system only has 56 Mg RAM but I am not trying to multi task. Any one have any suggestions? The laptop is so old I doubt if I can find a memory upgrade. Pentium III processor. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks
I have a friend with a laptop (Compaq Presario). Some one loaded and unloaded all kinds of stuff on it. I have been asked to clean it up. I used "add/remove" whenever I could but also had to dump a bunch of stuff running in background where I could not locate how it was loading.

Windows XP factory install and worked fine for a year. Then my daughter started using some games and music downloads. Next thing I hear is computer will not function.
My first step was to use the Windows XP Repair installation. I was able to get that to work. But when she started computer...
There is a key stroke short cut to mark and then delete a series of files from the system. This short cut takes them off and does not require going out to the recycle bin to empty it. The short cut takes them off completely by itself. I can't remember that key combination.

Thanks Jontmke. Just what a cash stressed, zero budget for an icon utility OS this school needs. The OS at this level is nothing more then a desktop where icons are used to launch other software. You must realize that not every one embraces expensive OS upgrades when no benefit would be...
Thanks csdb1. I will give that a try.
As VMPhilosophy implied any one can walk around Microsoft's network login or passworded screen saver by just rebooting and using the escape key. What I need is to lock the computer down in this general area so that only one person only can use it...
I am looking for a way, or simple downloadable program that will require a user login/password to launch Windows 98. We are on a Windows 2000 network and this particular workstation uses Windows 98. I know I can set a screen saver password. But I am looking for something that will require a...
Compaq EVO terminals trying to link with Compaq Citrix server. Using ICA client the individual terminals are set up point to the server both by name and in server location by the server's IP address. When I edit the ICA client and search the terminal finds the server without delay or problems...
Same problem on one of the systems here at the school. Just as you did I pulled all cards except video and tried to boot. It failed. No system fans, keyboard was plugged in (some systems require that now), and changing RAM fixed the problem. I think you are on the right track suspecting RAM...
In Windows 98 I went through Start button pull up menu to Settings and then Taskbar & Start Menu. On the Start Menu Programs tab there was a button that cleared the document listings that appear off the Start button pull up menu.
I know there has to be a way to do this in Windows 2000 but I...
Too late. By the time I started the cleaning process the worm had worked it's way so deep into the OS that I feel it best to format hard drive and reload. The system is set now so I can backup my data first.
Thanks to everyone who responded. This trojan walked into my system regardless my...
