Hi, I had this problem when upgrading a Windows 2000 server to Exchange 2003, I got around this by transferring the Schema master role to another DC and then transferring this back to the server in question, forestprep then ran through without any problems. Hope this helps Brendan

Hi, Your getting the error message because the DNS service cannot resolve the name of your DNS server from the IP address, ensure that you have a reverse zone setup with a record for your server within this. What sort of error messages are your clients receiving? Brendan
