I want to be able to set my Crystal Report to run daily report from Business Objects Server. In order to do this I want to set the "datetime" field to be in the period of CurrentDate - 1.
The date in the database is char(12) in this format YYYYMMDDhhmm. If I use the function below to convert...
After reinstalling SQL 2000 SP4 and applying the patch for this, we now have two times of significant lockups.
Does autogrowth only happen at a certain hour of the day or certain times of the day? We have a 13+ gb database. And not only is the application inaccessible but the entire db server...
The vendor reinstalled SQL 2000 SP 4 then applied the patch. I don't want to jinx myself so I'll just say that I didn't get a call from the ED at the regular time like I have had every day for the last 3 weeks. Keep your fingers crossed.
I will pass this question to the vendor. I'm not a DBA. When they are monitoring here is what they see. The application is written in PERL. They said they see PERLs stacking up on the webserver at this time which indicates a failure to communicate with the db server. Our networking people...
Oh and I should add that the vendor found some errors in the event viewer that suggested that we should apply a patch to the SQL. WE will be doing that at 4am. Please pray for us!
Well networking checked the ports. I do not know if they checked the nic card because we actually had an "incident" and had to move the hard drives from our original server to a new server. Problem still happens every day after moving to new server so it doesn't appear to be hardware related...
No we have ruled out file system backups, sql db maintenance jobs, scheduled tasks as far as we can tell, no scheduled reports running, all the "normal" stuff. Thanks for asking and if you have any ideas please post.
Yes I sent that suggestion to the vendor and they said they were running it but had it narrowed down to what they were logging. They have changed it so that maybe it will catch what is happening. They are also loading something else that will monitor windows services on both the webserver and...
The server is just the db server. We have a web server that runs Apache to connect to this database. I don't think IIS is running on the db server but I'll check. If anything it should be running Apache for web services. The company that supports this application set it all up and has been...
Well I was assuming that the person who set up the server set it up correctly. You know what happens when you "assume". :) I'm just happy it is finally fixed.
On to the next adventure!
