Maybe you should consider a dual operating system. I've got XP Pro and it's a real pig. I downloaded the beta 2 days ago, tried it, and can't see much difference from PSP 8 in capability. Looks like they might have put in a few macros to combine some features, but couldn't see any extensions of capabilities. Has anyone tried or seen comparisons of what it will do?

I wrote to JASC about making jpeg the default save. No provision they say but maybe as a future option. Nothing I could find in the registry relating to it.

Jpeg is lossy, so you have to save the master if you don't want to kick yourself later. I sometimes do dozens of image corrections on one jpeg , and use the lowest compression option on save which seems to average out as about 7:1 over bmp, and it's very rare to find a degradation that I really...
