what the easiest way to knock out a background thats already filmed( cant add bluescreen )?

I am trying to drop an arrow on a spiral path but it goes from out to in, not in to out.... how do I reverse the direction so when I add the arrow or text it starts from the center???

I have done print before & I know about 300dpi for print, spot colors, overlays, etc. I was looking for production tips with ID2. Like telling someone to create & run an action in photoshop. Thanks for the replies & I guess I just need to buy a book or sing up on lynda.com.
