something like that, i'm new in linux too

press ctrl-alt-F2 for another console login screen (if i'm not mistaken)
then change your startup screen from there.

do scandisk on your drive, it could be invalid file structure on the disk, and it could just happen that the cookie file is affected. ----------------------------------------

you can't, but u can use other protocol to do so, say HTTP, FTP, but it's not email anymore. ----------------------------------------

u can create a batch file containing this 2 lines:
@echo off
qbasic /run theprog.bas
but once the program finishes it will return to qbasic
another way is to use quickbasic to compile it to .exe ----------------------------------------

get quickbasic 4.5 or ms basic PDS 7.1
split the program into separate modules if possible, to ease development and allow larger program size.

one way is like this:
first, when u design note the width and height of your form, then on formresize event set the width and height to the value that you noted down.
