Possible to poll for SNMP traps

I believe some vendors refer to this as SNMP V2 Informs. The device sends you a notification that it has a trap(s) waiting for you on the device. The NMS would then go and retrieve. V2 Informs may be based on RFC 3014 as mentioned by Amit above. I know that it is implemented in newer IOS...

    DSS 4.1 and SnifferBook

Great Owen, thanks for the info. I did mean to say Sniffer Pro v4.5 and NOT DSPro 4.5. Much thanks to both yourself and Alf. I'll report back what I have been able to accomplish when I get to it so that others can learn. Appreciate all your time guys. Jay

    DSS 4.1 and SnifferBook

Thanks Owen! I do have DSPro 4.5 that can communicate with the SnifferBook and perform analysis. I have to manually move the files that are saved on the DSPro onto the DSS Reporter Agent box. This doesn't really help though, since I really would like to log the WAN stuff via RMON and report...

    DSS 4.1 and SnifferBook

I am running the Distributed Sniffer (DSS ET05) 4.1 on Windows NT with the SnifferReporter 4.0. I also have a WAN SnifferBook. Within the DSPro Agent Configuration Utility (i.e. POD Configuration), there is an option to set the POD_TYPE for one of the four Ethernet cards on the DSS to...

Has anyone specified all well-known ports?

Thanks for the response Damianj. Agree with Ethereal. Excellent tip on using the Registry to merge flat files. I'll give that a shot as well.

Has anyone specified all well-known ports?

    Alternative to Sniffer Reporter?

I would be intersted in hearing which reports you have created as well, if you are willing to share. Thanks, blundergod2112@yahoo.com

buffer size, how do you increase it?

Hey Jamesgarlick, How would I snap small files and what is HDD? Sorry for the stupid questions. Thanks

Has anyone specified all well-known ports?

How about protocols outside of TCP or UDP? For instance something like protocol 50 (ESP -- Encapsulation Security Protocol). Is there any way to add these types of protocols to Sniff Pro? Thanks.
