I believe some vendors refer to this as SNMP V2 Informs. The device sends you a notification that it has a trap(s) waiting for you on the device. The NMS would then go and retrieve.
V2 Informs may be based on RFC 3014 as mentioned by Amit above.
I know that it is implemented in newer IOS...

Thanks Owen! I do have DSPro 4.5 that can communicate with the SnifferBook and perform analysis. I have to manually move the files that are saved on the DSPro onto the DSS Reporter Agent box.
This doesn't really help though, since I really would like to log the WAN stuff via RMON and report...

Let me ask a clarifying question. When I go into Sniff Pro "Tools->Options" and select the protocol tab, I only see the possibility of adding TCP, UDP or IPX protocol ports. ESP is neither of the 3 as it rides on top of the IP stack (as does TCP and UDP).

How about protocols outside of TCP or UDP? For instance something like protocol 50 (ESP -- Encapsulation Security Protocol). Is there any way to add these types of protocols to Sniff Pro?
