I have had some real problems upgrading the agents. Some servers would not uninstall the 9.1 agent. had to look at how to manually uninstall. then I tried to push from backup server. and I also have copied over the files to the remote server, and installed from there. Not sure I like this...

We just upgraded to veritas backup exec version 10.0. I noticed that the servers that had the old remote agents on them, looked like I could access them.? can I use the old agents. or do I need to uninstall old one, and re install new remote agent? or will the old remote agent work ?? blonde

It could be the setting under tools/options/devices . Then the media overwrite. Look and see what is checked in this. It also could be the set up in the job properties. you would right click on job. go to edit job. and look under the general tab. the when this job begins will have...

Are you sure you have the remote agent installed? blonde

put tape with server backup on it in the drive. go to DEVICES tab. right click on drive with the tape in it. and hightlight the Catalog option. This should run a job to catalog the tape and thus put it back into the catalogs.. blonde

In the Veritas job set up window, under device and media selection. the menu there has a box you can check that says, Eject media after job completes.. Maybe you should try that ?? blonde

with version 10.0, you have to enter new licenses numbers. I was wondering what files or if you could copy over the pvl.md file and catalogs of v9.1.? what files is it that we copy over to save the jobs that are set up. ? and job histories. Or do we have to start all over with setting up...

Check for a hotfix that may have to be installed to keep the remote agent working.. I think there is one out there..blonde

I know that we have new licenses to do a new install to v 10.0. I was wondering if you can save the backup jobs, and what the file's name is.? What is the best way to upgrade to v10. and save the job schedules. ? blonde
