Scratch that!! All that did was stop the movie from "playing" and created a false euphoria on my part! Arggg.. So I'm back where I was. The movie is being imported through Flash 8 "Import Video" function - I can't find a way to create any type of sound object - and the controls already exist...

Thanks - I've bookmarked the site. :) In my case tho it was actually quite simple since the video came in with sound from Premiere - I just set the "Autoplay" to false in the component inspector. Thanks Dodge

Thanks fumei, Removing normal.dot did not alter this behavior, unfortunately. As far as I know I am not using any add-ins or "extra" goodies. It's installed straight from the discs - then updated at Office Update. Thanks Bitdaf
