expanding IP office to third floor

Thanks for all the info. Some more details .... We are supplying the POE, they have suggested 1608-I desk phones @ $220 each. What do you all think of those phones, and is that the going price from a Vendor ? I mentioned that they are half that price on Amazon, but the vendor says it will...

expanding IP office to third floor

That 10 pair voice line sounds tempting. I was interested to test out the IP phone world, but I can't see that we gain any advantage going IP. We are working fine with the digital sets right now.

expanding IP office to third floor

We are relocating 7 employees up to the third floor in our building. We have a fiber line connecting the offices spaces running from level 1 to level 3. Our current IP office setup on level 1 is very simple, all our 25 digital phones go right back to the IP Office controller. So they don't...

remotely manage unconditional forwarding (with embedded VM)

Sorry that was bad information. I cannot ping from another subnet, it only worked when I was on the wireless which is on the same vlan as the IPOffice. I'm going to look at the IP route setup on the IPoffice.

remotely manage unconditional forwarding (with embedded VM)

While our phone vendor was here, he called avaya support and I heard the technician say that phone manager lite doesn't work across vlans. Maybe he was trying to say it's not supported ? In any case, I felt like there might be more to this. Taking the vpn out of the picture, I can ping our...

remotely manage unconditional forwarding (with embedded VM)

Is there any way to do this ? I was hoping users could connect to our VPN and run phone manager lite to do this. However apparently the phone manager lite product does not work across vlans. Any other options ?

how to identify a cover group call ?

Thanks for the help on this. I followed the advice of intrigrant and removed the call timer. That leaves enough room on the display for the group name to appear. So now calls that pass out to the cover group list the phone number and then the group name ..... so for us it's showing up like...

how to identify a cover group call ?

We are a new install of IP Office. When a call goes to our operator, if she doesn't pick up after a couple rings, the call rings out to a backup cover group. When it rings on our phones (model 1408) we have no way to know that it is the cover group or a direct call. It doesn't show anything...

forwarding from outside the office ?

We have an extension that I'd like to forward to another internal extension. Is there a way for me to do that if I am out of the office ? I do have administrator access to the Merlin Legend system. Thanks, Bill

    vpn thru a load balancer

We have a sonicwall router and an ecessa load balancer that connects to ISP1 and ISP2. An outside user connects to our sonicwall vpn using the client software specifying ISP1 as the endpoint. Can someone explain how the return traffic moves to the remote user ? Will it always route back thru...

    Loud Hard Drive question

Our Merlin legend voicemail system (007 MLM) is acting up. The Hard drive is sometimes making a high pitch sound and voicemail stops working periodically until we reset the system. We'd like to keep this system going for another yr or 2 before we revisit a VOIP system. My question is what...

    password reset

Sorry that I forgot to mention that 1234 # doesn't work either as a pwd. Also I have just tried to initialize the pwd on a different mailbox. It didn't work there either. The old password remains intact. I think the system admin menu feature to reset the password is just not functioning. Maybe I...
