Thanks again for the replies. I have downloaded another copy of the drivers from the Gigabyte website and now it's working perfectly. Apparently the original download was corrupted and therefore drivers did not work!

Ed, I don't understand. How can I be exceeding the capacity if I am writing 627Mb using a 700Mb CD. I thought the file system on a CD was different to clusters and sectors on a HDD?

Hi All, Can someone please tell me if there is a maximum number of files that can be written to a CD-R? I am trying to write 127,378 files which take up 627Mb and the burning software stops at 127,301 files. These files are mainly small files of icons and gif images which take up about 4-6Kb...

Is it possible u have a virus already? Have you done a virus scan in safe mode? Some new viruses/worms attack and disable firewall and antivirus programs. Just a thought.

In Win98 there was a small applet called WINPOPUP which allowed you to send a text message to another PC (user)on your network. Can't find it in XP. Is there anything in XP that does the same and can talk to WINPOPUP on a W98 PC??
