I have to do a remote Lab first with remote hands so will attempt the upgrade, but I would tend to agree and when it comes to production just do a full backup to another application server and put a fresh image on the server.
Only thing I wonder about with that is the media manager recordings...
I know what you mean with the vulnerabilities and we are driven by the security group in the customer, they scan from the management VLAN's ensuring they are not blocked at all so unrealistic I know but its what I have to put up with. As the 11.1 OS packages have not moved in quite some time...
so with the IP500v2 just jump 11.1.3.2 straight to 12.1.0.1? and using what method Manager, Web Manager, or are you doing the SD Card?
Need to go 12 just for the Vulnerabilities on 11.1
Found a web site that details the need to step through the Major Releases so I would imagine the process to be
Start point is everything on 11.1.3.2
upgrade secondary server to 12.0 using the ISO put on a USB key and copy over the avaya_autoupgrade.conf to the root directory
upgrade primary...
Just trying to nail down the steps to upgrade a 11.1.3.2 IP Office Server Edition using Avaya supplied servers for Primary/Secondary and some IP500v2 expansions to release 12.1.0.1
Looking at the documentation the order is Secondary then Primary then expansions, the steps for the servers to...
the IP500v2 licensing requirements is low as its just the server license, all the phones are TDM (Analogue and digital expansion units and cards in the gateways). I will contact Avaya partner and see where it leads us.
Have a 11.1 server edition with multiple IP500v2 expansion gateways, a few of the sites are getting sold off to a single customer. We want to split off the gateways on those sites what would be the best course of action?
To make them standalone or to deploy a new server in the new customer and...
We have digital cards and 30 port expansion modules on IP Office v11.1 we use 9508's so they work but also think they may be end of support. We tend to only use 1400 series on Aura.
We dont have any as have lots of gateways, but it looks more like an update for 10.1 to 10.2 so just stage and install, whereas upgrade covers 8.x to 10.x.
see the 10.2 release notes https://support.avaya.com/css/en/public/documents/101092135
and the Deploying/updating...
TBH I just took them and passed easily enough, they were not that hard especially the two IPO ones, but AURA Core integration exam and Support Exam were also pretty much the same as they were at R8
like you say the new accreditations are on Avaya Learning and the exams are free and open book as not monitored anymore, I just knocked off 4 of them.
With the time limit I think if you were trying to research every answer during the exam might be a challenge, you should go in with a good...
can you not add the VDN of a second blast conference to the first blast conference? You would need a H323 loop around trunk but guessing you have something like this as the CM used to only do a max of 6 without one.
In the SA8893 document I have (attached) it was this bit that made me think...
so it depends if its the only one in the route and if its a clock source
LD 96 - disable DCH and MSDL
LD - 60 disable PRI and Clock controller (if its the only reference on the CC or has the CC card installed on it)
LD 73 - remove the clock config from SYTI (if there is any)
LD 14 - out the...
as area codes that contain NXX that cash with 988 in general the carriers were moving to only accept 10 digit dialling so I would say you have probably gone with the easiest option.
Other than that you could put it in ESA which should grab it before it goes to AC1. The other way is change AC1...
For us our SIP provider is connected via a Ribbon SBC, all we do for forwarding is in the SM we take the internal number from the history headers and create a Redirect Header using Regex Adaptation, provider accepts that and the originating external number is seen on the mobile.
