    Yes that works fine. However, once it's created I still can't access the share itself via the windows interface. Any idea why or what I can do toget the windows share settings accessible? I would prefer to not have to do everything at the command line if possible...

    No, I have NTFS setup. And the server service is running. When I right click on a folder I can see the sharing and properties links, but when I click on them the menu goes away and nothing at all happens.
