No, ufortunately I have not run WD's utility. Actually I didn't know such a thing existed. Thanks for the website Wolluf. However, the HDD is still under warranty, so I'll just send it back to the vendor for a new one. Thanx to everyone that replied to this thread!- betaminus

Yes, I'm sure the 6Gb HDD works fine. I have tried running scandisk, it ran the normal check when the computer was restarted since I scheduled a check. I started deleting orphan files, and checked everything else, and then the computer loaded normally. I have tried deleting the partitions and...- betaminus

Hi, I have a 60Gb Western Digital HDD. I split it into two partitions a 10Gb, and a 55Gb. I used the 10Gb as the boot to WinXp. And the 55Gb for holding files and backup.
