    If you get this one - on Photoshop 5 and XP in my case - search your drive for a file called "adobefnt.lst". It may be liberally spotted all over the place for some Adobe reason. Delete them or rename them, restart Photoshop, and the problem goes away.

    ..and now I've solved it myself - my 7 year old had changed the date to 2029, which rather upset IE6 as all the certificates etc were out of date!
