    Thanks, but I'm doing spot-color seps, not CMYK. I think it may be impossible to do what I want. I believe the answer is to print a solid area of one color, then overprint halftone dots from the other color, forming a blend.

    I'm attempting to print spot color separations which contain halftones. Here's an example. I'm trying to blend from solid red into solid orange, the middle section of the fade being comprised of halftone dots to create the fade.
