    Backup a SharePoint server

I read in "Windows IT Pro" (http://www.windowsitpro.com/articles/print.cfm?articleid=49794) that Galaxy Backup & Recovery is a really nice tool to backup SharePoint servers. I tried to look on Commvault's website, in forums, newsgroups, etc. but I can't find some information I'm looking for. -...

    Hardware needs for this setup?

SQLBill, thanks for this information. Maybe I should just forget about putting transaction log on a different array!? I can't afford buying twice the disks of the database only for the transaction log! Or what about having 136 GB of free space for the transaction log, while the database would...

    Hardware needs for this setup?

Oh, and I forgot, is it worth having the tempdb on another array too for this much RPS?

    Hardware needs for this setup?

abaldwin : thank you for all this information. So you always must use 25% of database size for the transaction log? I don't know much about databases, but I thought that the transaction log was like "what has changed recently and has not been written to the database", and I don't think that more...

    Hardware needs for this setup?

I'm trying to determine what kind of hardware I should use for a SharePoint Portal Server (single server). The server should get about 10 RPS (Requests per second), this is why the single server setup will be used. The SQL database (because of the document management) should grow to about 600...

    Read a CSV in a 2D array

Hi, I know about the Split function. However, I don't understand how it would work, since sometimes it has to use the comma as a separator (to put data in array(0,0), array(0,1) and array(0,2)), and sometimes it would have to use the new line as a separator (to go into array(1,0), array(2,0), etc.)

    Read a CSV in a 2D array

Hi, This script will run on a server, and will be scheduled to run each day. The server doesn't have Excel installed on it. And also it uses the data in the array to query the domain controller and give some output.

System Policy doesn't work on all computers

Hi, I have configured a policy on the Windows NT PDC of my network. The policy is used to change some registry keys to make computers use our WSUS server. It works on most computers, but on some other computers, the registry just doesn't change, even when the computer reboots and the user logs...

    File auditing

Hi, I know how file audits work. However, I have some special needs here and I don't know what could be the solution. A department needs a special folder with audits on it. They want to have a log for almost anything that any user does in that directory - and they need to look at the logs by...

    ARCserve Service Account

Hi, I'm using ARCserve to backup about 20 servers. I don't have any errors in the ARCserve logs - all the backups are completed successfully. I have setup ARCserve to use a local user on the backup server as its Service Account (to configure this setting, you have to go in the "ARCserve Backup...
