Hi all,
I've got a basic Layer 3 switching question here...
I have three switches in the network - two of them are layer 2 switches, and one is a layer 3 switch. We have two VLAN's.
I know that you can use a layer 3 switch to do the inter VLAN routing (as opposed to router on a stick), but...
Unfortunately, I'm not onsite where the router is, so connecting via console isn't an option.
My only connection option is telnet/ssh
Also, if I ping the next hop, wouldn't it still use the default route, and send the ping traffic out the serial interface?
We have an 1841 router, with a serial interface currently connected to a T1. The default route is setup to be this serial interface.
Tomorrow, we're getting a 2nd internet line (Verizon FIOS), which will connect to an Ethernet interface.
Eventually, we'll decommission the T1, and setup the...
In order to comply with various regulations, we need to figure out a way to retain log data for MAS 200.
On other systems, we use the Syslog capabilities built into the system to send log data to our Syslog server. Does anyone know how to do this in MAS 200?
If MAS has no Syslog functions...
I should add some more details about this environment...
This DNS server acts as a Dynamic DNS (DDNS) server, just like dyndns.org or one of the well known public ddns services.
One of the requirements of the DDNS software, is that it be put on a domain controller, and that the DNS be Active...
We have a Windows Server 2008 box, acting as an authoritative DNS server. The server is behind a firewall, and has a private IP address.
We've setup the necessary host records, and everything works fine if someone on the internet browses to www.ourdomain.com, or ftp.ourdomain.com, etc...
The...
I'm about to setup my first SAN, and am looking for some advice on how to setup our ethernet switches.
The iSCSI SAN we just bought is a Dell MD3000i
We have a couple 48 port HP Procurve Gigabit switches, which are new, and have no configuration yet.
The switches will be replacing the 10/100...
We have an 1841 router, with two WIC-1DSU-T1-V2 cards. There are two data T1 lines, each plugging into one of the cards. The two T1's are bonded together in a multilink config.
We need more bandwidth, and have been offered an additional one or two T1's, basically for free.
Is there a way to...
We have a bunch of Security Groups in Active Directory, which I suspect are outdated and no longer needed. I'd like to delete them, but first I want to make sure they are no longer assigned to any objects, or shared folders, etc...
So my question is, how can I search or query AD, to get a...
I got it to work by typing /crm in the redirect box, and choosing to redirect "to a directory below this one".
That's the only way I could get it to work... Not sure why, but it's working, so I can't complain.
We're running IIS 6, on Server 2003 Standard.
A year or so ago, we created a website, in the IIS Default Site. This site is no longer used or needed.
Then a couple months ago, we installed a CRM application on the server, which uses IIS. During install, a Virtual Directory was created under...
I tried that yesterday, but the Remove-Mailbox command also returned an error about the object not being in AD.
Anyhow, when I returned to work this morning, and opened the Exchange Management Console, I found that the mailbox was gone. It's not listed in Disconnected Mailboxes either, nor was...
I need to remove a prior employees mailbox from Exchange 2007, but the problem is that the users account has already been deleted from Active Directory.
So when I try to remove it, I get an error saying the user object cannot be found. I tried recreating a new user with the same user name, in...
