I had this happen after an upgrade before. The alarm is due to it not seeing an additional hard drive for Media Manager, even if you don't use Media Manager. I opened a ticket with Avaya about it, they said if youre not using Media Manager you can disregard it. The Avaya Engineer I worked with...
@Sizbut, after you upload the VMDK file you have to copy it over to unpack it.
3.Copy the upgrade VMDK file to the first virtual machine that needs upgrading. This step is important for two reasons:
•! Important
This step is important. The process of copying within VMware expands the size of...
Doing an upgrade from 11.0.4.4 to R11.1 SP1. The secondary server Virtual machine has 500GB disk space allocated, 195GB of which is partitioned for available space for backup data. I upload the VMDK file, then copy it over, follow the upgrade procedures, goes through the upgrade and stops at the...
Looks like 11.1 FP2 was released yesterday and they didn't include the download for the Server Edition ISO imageor the Server Edition HyperV image. What the hell are they doing over there?
cfritzbflo - you saw that on Server Edition or regular IPO? I did it on Server Edition and the 500v@'s get upgraded from the Primary Server, not through manager.
Yes, I ran in to a problem and opened a ticket and they told me they pulled it from the download site. So glad they send out a notification or announcement to people (sarcasm).
My problem is upgraded the secondary and primary servers from 11.0.4.5 to 11.1.2. Primary and Secondary upgraded fine...
@janni78, what Dell tower server are you doing for $250 plus hard drives?
Thanks gents, huge help as always! Sounds like Im going to go with the free exsi software.
@Janni78, I agree. Not trying to go cheap, but when the customer had a $500-$800 windows PC running voicemail previously, they arent looking to spend $2000 to replace that. Plus the expense of licensing of VMs or OS's on top of that.
I agree with the new UCMs. We've put in about 30 of them over the past 18 months. We only had a problem with 1 of them with the RAM contunally spiked up at over 90%. RMA'd it and the replacement was fine.
@janni78, thanks. Thats what I was thinking also but after configuring something, its costs just as much as a prebuilt avaya app server pretty much.
@dsm600rr, I know that part. But I, and others Ive seen on here, run in to problems once the iso is installing. What HP server are you using?
Just wondering what everyone is doing when upgrading customers up to R11.1 and migrating the voicemail to an application server. Most customer these days have virtual environments so they are no problem. But what are you doing for those that need a physical appliance? We have moved some on the...
