Sorry... my guess is that the RAM is your problem...
Try the viahardware.com for more info on the chipset... maybee some wrong setup might be doing some harm around there!!!
(check up those patches for PCI latency...!!!)
You dont really need a branded RAM to perform nicelly... but it helps!!!
:)
Lack of data in the buffer... I´ve resolved that with two small steps... enable DMA on the HD and on the CDRW... maybee it wont work for you but it sure worked for me!
IBM DTLA307030 30Gb 7200rpm 2Mb cache (not partitioned)
LG 8x/4x/32x (???8080)
I´ll try an get some more tek info...

O.K.! Ready for some tips...
1st - Get a Fan (about 60/80mm and not too much noisy) and screw it down alined with the HSF/CPU (might have to remove those small bits of metal, just below the conectors for mouse and keyboard), and get a bit of kinda hard plastic (from a models/kit shop) and...
I also have a Hercules MX (but with a Blue Orb - nice!!!) and o.c. it quite good even whithout a fan (205-205), and now i´m going for the "big" 220-220.
