    A7M266-D not passing post

Ok, had the same problem with an Asus A7v266-e. You problem is the memory. The Registered ECC doesnt work with these mobos (they dont support it). Alot of motherboards can deal with the 4 extra bits (ECC part), but the Registered has to do with memory timing and it will lock them up tighter...

    Asus Aflash

I configure quite a few systems with Asus motherboards and subsequently flash alot BIOS. When I run the Aflash utility, after flashing the utility asks me if I would like to flash again. (Y)Yes happens to be default. My question is, does anyone usually flash the BIOS more than once, if so...

    Can't Stop the Siren!

If the card is AGP make sure that it is fully seated in the slot. The card fits really deep in the slot.

Random Reboot with 256MB PC800 RIMM

Sounds like intermitent memory failure. May be heat related issue specific to the 256MB mods. How hot do they get? Did you build the system yourself? What are the specs and brands?

Random Reboot with 256MB PC800 RIMM

What is your power supply rated at? RDRAM uses lots of power. Maybe supply can't provide enough power. Just a thought. How many RIMM Slots do you have? Do you have the memory paired correctly? (RIMMA1,RIMMB1);(RIMMA2,RIMMB2) Good Luck

Installing New Memory - Need Advise

Lokidog, Things to consider: 1. How many open slots do you have? You don't want to fill all of you slots with lower capacity modules. 2. What is the maximum that your motherboard will address for each module? Usually around 512MB (for a 3 slot total of 1.5GB). The more RAM you can get in...

Recover Data from a ghosted drive???

butchrecon, I seems that you have done the one thing that I fear the most when using Ghost. I don't think that the data is recoverable because it wasn't just flagged as deleted but acually overwitten with blank tracks (something like a zero fill). If the blank (source) drive was formated, I...

    P4 1.8GHz???

Has anyone noticed that Gateway is selling a desktop running a 1.8GHz P4? I believe that Intel only makes a 1.7GHZ processor. Is Intel allowing Gateway to overclock its processor for marketing reasons?
