I want to thank everyone for their help. I think I'll get an A-B switch and go that route. It seems like the best way within a budget.
Ed, did you happen to notice the model # of the KVM switch you mentioned? I might try and save some pennies for that in the future.
Thanks again, all. If it...
Thanks Ed.
I am indeed running through an electronic KVM. Maybe I'll just use a "y" adapter. That should work, shouldn't it? If it ain't broke, it will be when I'm done with it.
You need to go to Run, type in "conf" (without quotes, of course) and hit OK. It'll take you to net meeting setup. If it ain't broke, it will be when I'm done with it.
Hey All!
I was wondering the best way to run multiple PCs with a single set of speakers. I'm running the machines through a KVM and want to share speakers, as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! If it ain't broke, it will be when I'm done with it.
It's pointed to a Brother 1670N. We have probably 12 printers networked. The problem didn't start until I upgraded IE to 5.5. I've since upgraded the machine to Win 98 SE, IE 6 and all critical updates. The problem only takes place in IE or Outlook. We can print an office document without it...
Okay, here goes. Win 95 machine. Try to print from IE, machine reboots. Upgrade to IE5.5 sp2 and critical updates, no change. Point to a different printer, still reboots when trying to print. Try to print from Outlook 2000...you guessed it, it reboots. Any ideas? The printers we've pointed to...
Okay. I've pulled the battery. I'll let the capacitors drain for a few days and we'll see what happens. I'll be sure to keep you posted.
Thank you for all your advice. If it ain't broke, it will be when I'm done with it.
Thanks Kimber.
I've done that acouple times already. I've already built a different machine for that station, so I'm foregoing the modem in this machine. Fact is, I can't get rid of the conflict. I've tried everything I know (which isn't much) and have yet to come up with a solution. I took out...
Hi, All.
Dilemma: When trying to configure a USR modem (internal) to a HP Vectra VE C/266, I somehow lost the FDC and P/S 2 mouse. A serial mouse doesn't work, either. I get a FDC Failure error in POST. Sometimes, but no always, I get the PS/2 failure, as well. When I do finally get into Windows...
Hey ntnet,
I had already downloaded the latest Detonator drivers. I'm afraid I may have some corruption somewhere. One thing I did see was the video adapter is sharing the same IRQ with 5 other devices; sound, NIC, SCSI controller,ACPI, and PCI to USB host controller. I didn't realize that this...
Hey ntnet,
I gave that a shot and bumped it to 32bit. No dice. I do appreciate the input, as I hadn't tried that yet.
Thank you for the advice. If it ain't broke, it will be when I'm done with it.
I'm pretty sure it'set to max, but I'll be sure to double check it when I get home. I'm running Win 2K Pro, by the way. If it ain't broke, it will be when I'm done with it.
Thanks cdogg,
I already have DirectX 8. What are the odds of a vid card losing it's 3D capabilities while retaining the ability to work everywhere else? If it ain't broke, it will be when I'm done with it.
Hi all.
I have a problem. For some reason, out of the blue, my video card (compaq OEM nVidia TNT2)isn't being rcognized as a 3D card. It was working just the other day and now it isn't. I tried starting one of my games and am being told that I have no 3D card available. I don't think I've made...
