Sorry for the delay in follow up...
This is a VSS issue. With 7.4.2, licensing has changed so that you no longer need a VSS license to backup the additional VSS savesets from all the writers available on that particular client.
In this case, you are backing up the SQL database using the...
Sounds like the VSS writer is backing up the database as part of the regular client backup.
You need to disable the VSS writer for MSDE on the client properties
VSS:MSDEWriter=off
About the only way I can think of is to export it through nsradmin do some reformatting and import it back in.

no, from a symmetrix. What I'm trying to do is prove that the problem is in the VTL not on the server. I've got VTL support saying it looks ok, but my server doesn't see it.
I'm not an AIX admin, I'm just trying to determine if I'm performing the correct steps to see this library. i.e...
OK, tried that and I don't see anything about smc or rmt devices. Does that mean that the server is not seeing the libraries presented to it. (as if they were un-zoned, or un-presented)?
I tend to think that this may be an issue with the VTL, however what I'd really like to know is the process for detecting and adding this library.

Was there anything...
:-) I appreciate the dummy suggestion, I wish that was the case... Yes library is on and presented to the host. It's a virtual library, so presentation is really the only control and I have verified that.
thank you though.
I'm adding a 3584 Virtual tape library to the system.
Library was previously installed and working, then we had an issue with the VTL which requires me to remove and re-add it.
I didnt' install it the first time, and I'm somewhat new to AIX...
I removed the library and 4 drives through...

I have a purely Irix env. Networker Server is supported on Irix, however the NMC is not. I believe that I can use nwadmin from 7.2.2 to manage this in addition to nsrwatch for monitoring.
What do I need to copy over in addition to the nwadmin binary?
I tested this on windows and I needed...
I'm running Legato 7.2.2 on Windows 2003 and I'm trying to backup the mailboxes on a Exchange 2003 box. I keep getting these errors:
